Marie Taufa serves as the Pacific Student and Community Support Adviser in the Division of Sciences at the University of Otago, located in Dunedin, New Zealand. Proudly Tongan, she recently joined the Pacific Student and Community Support team on secondment from the University of Otago Library, where she works as a Library Engagement Assistant – Pacific. Marie holds a Bachelor of Social Services, equipping her with foundational knowledge in social support services. Her role emphasizes uplifting Pacific students and communities through initiatives grounded in her personal values, lived experiences, and passion for collective wellbeing. She contributes to creating supportive environments that promote academic success and cultural affirmation for Pacific learners within the sciences.
