Mariya Semenova serves as Purchasing Officer in the Property Hub team of the Financial Services Division at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. She handles procurement and purchasing activities specifically for property-related needs, ensuring efficient supply chain operations for the university's infrastructure and facilities management. The Property Hub operates as part of the broader Supply Chain function within Financial Services, collaborating with team members such as Lead Officer Martin Quinn, and fellow Purchasing Officers Laura Bunduc and Kendal Lewis. Semenova earned her Master of Science Communication (MSciComm) from the University of Otago in 2015. Her graduate thesis, titled 'Individualism vs. Collectivism: Effect on our pro-environmental behaviour,' examines the influence of cultural orientations on environmental actions and has been cited four times. As a postgraduate student, she contributed articles to the university's Critic publication, including pieces on Ukrainian current events and campus life. She also participated in the Dunedin Fringe Festival as a performer with the steampunk fire group Firebugs and was part of the team behind Virtual Property, a photography business that received an award at the 2014 Otago business competition Acting Now.
