About Marko

Dr. Marko Torkkeli, D.Sc. (Tech.), is Professor of Technology and Business Innovations at LUT University in Kouvola, Finland, within the School of Engineering Science and the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management. As group leader of the Innovation and Logistics research group, his work focuses on synergizing innovation, logistics, and entrepreneurship to enhance organizational competitive advantage through strategic technologies, disruptive business models, and talent utilization. His research specializations include technology and innovation management, strategic entrepreneurship, growth venturing, decision support systems, and technology and knowledge management. Torkkeli has served as a researcher in the School of Industrial Engineering and Management at LUT University from November 1997 to January 2015.

Torkkeli holds a Docent position in Technology-based Business at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, an Affiliated Faculty position at Singapore Management University, and was a Visiting Researcher at INESC Porto, Portugal. With over 25 years of consulting experience in innovation management and strategy, he has authored more than 300 articles in academic journals and conferences, amassing over 2,400 citations. He serves as Director of Publications for the International Society for Professional Innovation Management (ISPIM) and is a founding editor of the Journal of Innovation Management, contributing significantly to the fields of innovation management and technology strategy.
