Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Strube serves as the Dean of Studies for the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Director of the Institute for Mechatronics (IMEC) at Ostfalia Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften in Wolfenbüttel, Germany. He earned his Dr.-Ing. degree in 2014 from the dissertation 'Modellgestützte Modernisierungsplanung industrieller Automatisierungslösungen,' published as VDI Fortschritt-Berichte Reihe 20, Nr. 459. His academic career centers on engineering disciplines within mechanical engineering, with teaching responsibilities including courses in Mathematics I for Mechanical Engineering and Applied Informatics programs such as Communication and Computation for Cyber-Physical Systems. Strube's research specializations encompass Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), applied machine learning, automation technology, and control technology. He leads key projects including AI-Based Product Development and Optimization, Automated Complete Vehicle Dismantling, and the Lab: Internet of Things, contributing to advancements in digital transformation and Industry 4.0 technologies.
Strube has authored numerous publications in prominent engineering conferences and journals. Notable works include 'IoT-basierte Fahrerassistenzsysteme für Ultraleichtfahrzeuge' with D. Jess and G. Stebner (IFToMM DACH 2021), 'Simulationsmodell zur Generierung von Trainingsdaten für ML-gestützte Ansätze der Zustandsüberwachung' with D. Jess (ASIM STS/GMMS & EDU WORKSHOP 2021), 'Closed-Loop Heartrate Control with Electric Bicycles for Cardiac Rehabilitation' with Neuber (IEEE REM 2020), 'Design of a Neural Controller Using Reinforcement Learning to Control an Inverted Pendulum' with Brown (IEEE REM 2020), 'Hybride Automatisierungslösungen – Wie die IoT-Welt und klassische Automatisierung zusammenwachsen' with D. Wermser et al. (VDI Automation 2019), and 'IoT gestütztes Maschinen-Monitoring – „Wearables“ für Maschinen' (ASIM Fachtagung 2018). Earlier contributions cover integrated engineering and modernization planning, such as 'Durchgängiges Engineering von der Anforderungserhebung bis zur Anlagenstrukturbeschreibung' with Jäger et al. (at – Automatisierungstechnik 2013) and 'Modellgestützte Modernisierungsplanung' with A. Fay et al. (atp-edition 2011). His work advances practical applications of IoT and machine learning in industrial automation and mechatronic systems.
