Maryam Fatima serves as Assistant Professor of English in the School of Arts & Sciences at the American University in Dubai. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, which she completed in 2023. Her dissertation is titled "Partitions and Palimpsests: Transgressions of Form and Territory in Postcolonial Urdu and Arabic Writing."
Fatima has published scholarly work including the article "The Late Persianate World: Transregional Connections and the Question of Language" in Comparative Literature Studies in 2022. Her academic interests center on comparative literature and translation studies. She joined the faculty at the American University in Dubai following her doctoral studies.
