Matt Hogan is the Team Leader for Mechanical Services in the Property Services department at the University of Otago's Dunedin Campus. In this capacity, he oversees a dedicated team comprising leading hands in engineering, tradespersons, maintenance engineers, fitters, plant room operators, and trade assistants. The Mechanical Services team handles a wide array of tasks essential to maintaining the university's infrastructure, including new installations, alterations to existing systems, repairs, maintenance, and servicing. Specific responsibilities cover compressed air and hydraulic systems, heating and ventilation, ductwork manufacture and installation, filter changes, fan and motor repairs, system design and installation, heating and cooling system maintenance, pump and boiler repairs, heat exchanger and steam condensate system maintenance, as well as steel, stainless steel, and aluminium welding, fabrication, site welding, and polishing.
Matt Hogan also functions as the Engineering Services team leader, serving as the single point of contact for coordinated and cost-effective delivery of mechanical, engineering, and HVAC services across the university's built environment. Property Services, his department, is tasked with creating, developing, and maintaining campuses to support excellence in learning, teaching, living, and research for staff, students, and the public.
