Matthew L. McGann serves as Vice President and Dean of Admission & Financial Aid at Amherst College, a position he has held since joining the institution in 2018. In this role, he oversees all aspects of access and affordability, including recruitment and admission for first-year and transfer students as well as financial aid and student employment for all students.
Before arriving at Amherst College, McGann served as director of admissions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a first-generation college student who received his bachelor’s degree from MIT in management science. He earned his master’s and doctoral degrees at Northeastern University.
