Dr Matthew 'Tepi' McLaughlin is an Adjunct Research Fellow in the School of Human Sciences at the University of Western Australia. He holds a PhD in Public Health and Behavioural Sciences awarded by the University of Newcastle in 2022 and a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science from Loughborough University awarded in 2017. His research expertise includes physical activity, public health, implementation science, interventions, scale-up and scalability.
McLaughlin has held positions including Senior Research Officer at the Telethon Kids Institute, University of Western Australia (2021–2023); Research Assistant at Hunter New England Population Health (2017–2021); PhD Candidate at the University of Newcastle (2017–2021); and various research assistant roles at Loughborough University, Victoria University, Baker IDI and the University of Western Australia (2016). He is a member of the International Society for Physical Activity and Health and the International Society for Behavioural Nutrition and Physical Activity.
