Rate My Professor Mel Symister

Mel Symister serves as Head of Quality, Performance and Ancillary Services in Property Services at the University of Otago. In this key leadership position, she is responsible for ensuring high standards in quality management, performance evaluation, and the provision of ancillary services that underpin the university's campus infrastructure and daily operations in Dunedin.

Prior to her current role, Mel Symister worked as Property Services Contracts Manager. In June 2022, she led a sustainability effort by arranging the donation of used electrical cable spools, which would otherwise have been discarded, to Balaclava School. The school repurposed the spools into playground equipment, exemplifying practical waste avoidance and community collaboration.
