Associate Professor Michael Creswick is affiliated with Macquarie University as a Clinical Associate Professor teaching Musculoskeletal Medicine. He previously held the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Musculoskeletal Medicine at the Australian School of Advanced Medicine, Macquarie University, Sydney. Creswick has been involved in the Master of Advanced Medicine program, where he, alongside Associate Professor Rod Ayscough, explained the program requirements in promotional materials. His clinical expertise lies in musculoskeletal medicine, with special interests in muscular pain and dysfunction, including cervicogenic headache. As a general physician and musculoskeletal physician, he treats soft tissue pain disorders. He served as a Visiting Medical Officer in Musculoskeletal Medicine at Macquarie University Hospital, where he was listed for referrals in specialist directories around 2012 and 2014. Dr Creswick is the Medical Director at Joint Dynamics, maintaining an active clinical practice in musculoskeletal medicine. He has acted as an Assessor of Permanent Impairment for the Motor Accidents Authority NSW and as a reviewer for the AMA Journal. In 2011, Associate Professor Creswick highlighted the challenges of soft tissue pain in primary care, stating that 'soft tissue pain is a great mimic' that can imitate many other conditions, leading to frequent misdiagnosis. He advocated for enhanced musculoskeletal training for general practitioners to improve identification and management of these prevalent disorders, potentially benefiting millions of patients.
