Michael Jensen served as an associate professor in the Department of Student Leadership and Success Studies at Utah Valley University, retiring in 2025. Holding an M.Ed., he committed over 25 years to the institution as of 2018, having joined around 1993. In his earlier role as Academic Director and Assistant Professor in College Success Studies, he earned the Scholarship Award in UVU's 2007 Awards of Excellence, acknowledging his impactful work in teaching and scholarship.
Jensen advanced student leadership education through his authorship of the essay "No Two Leaders are Alike" published in the Journal of Student Leadership, Volume 2, Issue 1, 2018, featuring his assemblage sculptures. He instructed courses such as SLSS 1100 College Success and SLSS 3200, delivering concurrent theoretical and practical learning in leadership, self-coaching, and personal growth. Outside his academic pursuits, Jensen engaged in visual arts, painting and assembling sculptures from found objects since 2013, embodying principles of reduce, recycle, and reuse.
