Michelle Leweck is a Senior Administrator in the Academic Division's Student Experience team at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. In her current role since November 2018, she manages the admission of domestic students. Previously, she served as Recruitment Administrator at the University from March 2016 to October 2018, handling coordination and administration of recruitment for academic and general staff as well as campus temps. Her work supports key student services including administration, development, timetables, examinations, graduations, and scholarships within the Academic Division. With over eight years of experience at Otago, Leweck contributes to fostering a positive student experience at the institution.
Leweck possesses a strong international HR background, having worked in Denmark prior to joining Otago. She was HR Advisor at Maersk Drilling (2014-2015), overseeing onboarding, SAP management, analysis, optimization, contracts, relocation, and projects; HR Assistant at Maersk Procurement (2013-2014), managing recruitment, assessments, and data quality; and multiple roles at Nets Denmark A/S (2007-2013), including HR Consultant for competency counseling, CSR, branding, reporting, organizational changes, and appraisals; HR Learning & Development Consultant implementing Saba LMS and competency databases; and IT Learning & Development Consultant supporting process improvements via her master's thesis. Earlier internships included Strategic Planning at Administración Portuaria Integral de Veracruz (2005), authoring a thesis on port marketing comparison, and Marketing at Schweppes Madrid (2002). She holds a Master’s in Intercultural Management from Copenhagen Business School (2005-2007), Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Universität Flensburg (2002-2005), and additional studies at Universidad Cristóbal Colón and Lincoln University. Multilingual in German, English, Spanish, and Danish, her skills include project management, SAP HR, employer branding, CSR, coaching, and cross-cultural competence. Certifications: PRINCE2 Practitioner and Foundation (2013), Competency Profiling (2008), and LinkedIn Learning course (2021).
