Michelle Liccardo serves in Arts and Culture at Portland Community College, where she teaches Painting and Introduction to Drawing (ART 131/231) at the Rock Creek Campus. Listed as an Enrollment Advisor in the PCC catalog, she holds a BA in Drawing and Painting from Portland State University, a BA in Printmaking from Portland State University, and an MFA in Contemporary Art Practices from Portland State University in 2010. She has also taught 3-dimensional Design at Portland State University. As a faculty member, Liccardo participated in the Rock Creek Art Faculty Exhibition at Helzer Gallery in 2023. Her teaching fosters collaborative student projects, such as the Sumi Ink Club Collaborative Drawing exhibited at the Paragon Arts Gallery in 2022 and the "Musicians of Bremen" mixed media sculpture added to the PCC Art Collection in 2013.
Liccardo is a sculptor and painter working primarily with plaster, wood, paper, mixed media, and found objects. Her artwork "Greek Vase II," created in 2011 using papier mâché, wire, and paint, is part of the PCC Art Collection. She received a mini-grant for the "Mexican Ceramics Project" through PCC's Internationalization Initiative from 2020 to 2023. Liccardo has engaged in numerous exhibitions, including group shows at Disjecta's Vestibule space, Performance Works Northwest, Alembic #6, and DOMESTIC/WILD in 2010, as well as GLEAN in 2021. She has presented four solo exhibitions since 2008 and maintains an active studio practice in Portland, Oregon, contributing to the local arts community through demonstrations at events like the 25th anniversary of Art Beat in 2012.
