Rate My Professor Mohammad AlShboul

Professor Mohammad AlShboul is a Professor of Finance & Banking in the Department of Finance and Economics at the College of Business Administration, University of Sharjah. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance and Banking from the School of Business at James Cook University in Australia, where his thesis examined the effects of financial and operational hedges on Australian corporate foreign currency risk exposure. He also earned a Master of Business in Finance from the University of Technology, Sydney, and a B.Sc. in Economics from Al Qadisiya University in Iraq.

Prior to his current role, Professor AlShboul served as Associate Professor of Finance & Banking at the University of Sharjah from 2014 to 2023. His earlier appointments include positions at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University in Jordan, where he was Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Chairman of the Department of Accounting and Finance, as well as a lectureship at James Cook University. He has held administrative roles such as Director General of University Financial Affairs at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University. His research focuses on areas including corporate hedging, foreign exchange risk, financial sustainability, banking stability, cryptocurrencies, and the impacts of uncertainty on financial markets. Professor AlShboul serves as editor for journals such as the Arab Gulf Journal of Scientific Research and Accounting and Audit Review, and as a reviewer for numerous high-impact publications. He has received research grants from the University of Sharjah and conducted research visits, including to the University of Mannheim. He teaches a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in finance, banking, and related fields.
