Molin Wang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, with a faculty affiliate appointment in the Department of Biostatistics and serving as Associate Professor of Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. She earned her Ph.D. in Biostatistics from Emory University. Her research specializes in addressing statistical challenges in epidemiological studies, including the assessment of timing of effect in survival analysis, causal inferences for clustered data, evaluation of etiological disease heterogeneity, methods for pooling biomarker data, and solutions for measurement error and missing data problems. Dr. Wang has developed semi-parametric methods to mitigate the impact of nuisance parameters in these analyses.
As lead statistician, Dr. Wang oversees analyses for major prospective cohort studies such as the Nurses’ Health Study II and the Health Professionals Follow-up Study, along with several Harvard cohort projects. She directs statistical efforts for the Pooling Project on Diet and Cancer in Women and Men, the Circulating Biomarkers and Breast and Colorectal Cancer Consortium, the Pooling Project on Gestational Weight Gain in Low- and Middle-Income Countries, and HIV studies in Uganda, Tanzania, and India. She provides expertise in analytic procedure development, interpretation of results, and software implementation for advanced statistical methods. Prior to October 2010, her work focused on statistical collaborations in oncology projects with the Harvard-Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group, emphasizing the design and analysis of breast cancer clinical trials. Her contributions have garnered over 28,000 citations and an h-index of 70 according to Google Scholar.
