Morteza Karimzadeh is an Assistant Professor of Geography at the University of Colorado Boulder, holding affiliate assistant professor appointments in Computer Science and Information Science. He received his Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University in 2018, M.S. from KN Toosi University of Technology in Iran in 2011, and B.S. from Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University in Iran in 2008. As a spatial data scientist, his research spans geographic information retrieval, machine learning, geovisualization, and visual analytics. Karimzadeh integrates data science with social and environmental sciences to advance sustainable and equitable practices.
