Mgr. Tomáš Mořkovský serves as Secretary of the Faculty Department and Lecturer II in the Department of Anthropology at the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. Born on 1 October 1977 in Valašské Meziříčí, he completed his Master of Science degree (Mgr.) in 2001 at the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University, with a thesis titled Bearers of Spurs in 9th - 15th century under the supervision of Prof. PhDr. Josef Unger CSc. His professional career at Masaryk University began with a specialist role in the Department of Anthropology from 2003 to 2006, followed by his current appointments as secretary and lecturer since 2006. He has also held memberships on the Board for Studies in Anthropology for both bachelor’s and master’s programs.

Mořkovský’s research specializations include skeletal anthropology and socio-cultural anthropology, with a particular emphasis on burial rites and customs in history and modern times. He conducted academic stays at Georg-August University in Göttingen, Germany, including a SOCRATES/ERASMUS program from 1999 to 2000 focusing on paleopathology, social and cultural anthropology, and another visit in May 2004.
