About Maria
Dr Maria Paton is a Doctoral Research Fellow (Allied Health Prof) in the School of Medicine at the University of Leeds. She holds an MSc in Advanced Practice, a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Research, a BSc in Cardiac Physiology and the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examination qualification. Her research focuses on heart failure, pacemakers, cardiac devices, cardiac physiology, echocardiography and personalised medicine. She is affiliated with the Leeds Institute of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine and maintains professional memberships with the Health Care Professions Council and the British Society of Echocardiography. Dr Paton also serves as an NIHR Clinical Lecturer and Clinical Cardiac Scientist, contributing to clinical academic work in cardiology at the University of Leeds and the NIHR Leeds Biomedical Research Centre.
