Mudit Kapoor is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Indian Statistical Institute in New Delhi. He earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland in College Park, an M.A. in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, and an Economic Honours degree from Ramjas College at the University of Delhi. His research centers on data and analytics in healthcare, with a focus on converting data into actionable information to support optimal decision making. He has collaborated with large public and private health institutions to enhance performance in areas such as resource utilization and anti-microbial stewardship. Kapoor also worked with a research think tank to develop the Brookings India Health Monitor, a tool designed to evaluate government performance at the district level.
His scholarly contributions include publications in leading international journals such as Scientific Reports (Nature), JAMA Network Open, Social Science and Medicine - Population Health, BMJ Open, Journal of Human Hypertension (Nature), Management Science, Journal of Econometrics, Review of Economics and Statistics, Regional Science and Urban Economics, Journal of Financial Intermediation, Economic and Political Weekly, World Economy, Journal of Asian Economics, and BE Journal of Economic Analysis and Policy. Prior to his current role, he served as Assistant Professor of Economics.
