About Mutamed

Dr. Mutamed Turki Nayef Khatib is an Associate Professor in the Telecommunication Engineering and Technology Department and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Palestine Technical University-Kadoorie (PTUK) in Tulkarm, Palestine. He obtained his B.Sc. in Telecommunication Engineering from Yarmouk University, Irbid, Jordan in 1996; M.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with specialization in Digital Mobile Telecommunications from Jordan University of Science and Technology, Irbid, Jordan in 2003; and Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering focusing on Wireless and Mobile Systems from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, Malaysia in 2009. His career began as Transmission, Outside Broadcasting, and Studio Engineer at the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation in Ramallah from 1996 to 2005. He worked as a Teaching Assistant during his M.Sc. studies at Jordan University of Science and Technology from 2002 to 2003 and as a part-time Instructor in the Electrical Engineering Department at An-Najah National University, Nablus from 2004 to 2005. At PTUK, he started as an Instructor in the Electrical Engineering Department in 2005, became Assistant Professor in the Telecommunication Engineering and Technology Department from 2009 to 2014, served as Head of the Department from 2011 to 2013, Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology from 2013 to 2017, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2014, and has been Vice President for Academic Affairs since 2017. He also held a part-time Assistant Professor position in the Telecommunication Engineering Department at Arab American University, Jenin from 2011 to 2011.

Professor Khatib's academic interests center on broadband access networks and services, adaptive signal processing for communications, and cellular networks, with additional focus on mobile and wireless systems, block transmission, precoding, equalizer sharing, and synchronous multiuser communications. He authored two books: Block Transmission in Wireless Communications: Precoding and Code Sharing Techniques (Lambert Academic Publishing, 2010) and OFDM for Mobile Communications Systems: Efficient Modulations and Techniques (Lambert Academic Publishing, 2011). He edited Advanced Trends in Wireless Communications (IntechOpen, 2011) and Contemporary Issues in Wireless Communications (IntechOpen, 2014). Key publications include journal articles such as 'Performance Improvement of Synchronous Multiuser Communication Systems by using Process Sharing Techniques' (WSEAS Transactions on Communications, 2007), 'Study of Parameters Effect on the Performance of Precoding and Equalizer Sharing Systems' (NAUN International Journal of Communications, 2008), 'Use of Chaotic Behaviour in Communication Security' (Journal of Asian Scientific Research, 2012), and 'Evaluation of Electromagnetic Radiation Safety from Wireless Transmission Systems in Tulkarm City – Palestine' (International Journal of Engineering and Innovative Technology, 2014). He has contributed to numerous international conferences, including IEEE Asia-Pacific Conference on Applied Electromagnetics and others on wireless communication techniques.
