Rate My Professor Nadia Ayub

Dr. Nadia Ayub serves as Dean and Professor of Social and Organizational Psychology in the College of Economics and Social Development at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) in Karachi, Pakistan. She obtained her Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology from the University of Karachi in 2011 and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the School of Psychology, University of Queensland, Australia, in 2016, supported by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. Prior to her current role, she worked on a research project in Community Health Sciences at the Aga Khan University and Hospital. As an HEC-approved Ph.D. supervisor, Dr. Ayub oversees multiple MPhil and Ph.D. theses at IoBM. She is a member of the HEC National Curriculum Revision Committee for Psychology and has served as a reviewer for impact factor journals, including the Australian Journal of Psychology and PsyCH Journal. Her professional contributions extend to editorial roles and international collaborations in psychological research.

Dr. Ayub's research specializations include psychological foundations of social and organizational behavior, psychometric assessment, adolescent development, interpersonal relationships, workplace dynamics, personality, family and marital issues, social problems, and organizational challenges. She focuses on developing culturally grounded psychological measurement tools and examines identity, well-being, and leadership within diverse sociocultural contexts. With more than forty-five peer-reviewed journal articles published, she has presented her research at Harvard University in the United States in 2012 and 2013, as well as at conferences around the world. Dr. Ayub's influence in the field is evident through her supervision of graduate students, curriculum development efforts, and peer review activities that shape psychological scholarship, particularly in South Asian contexts. She has received major awards and fellowships, including the HEC Best University Teacher Award for 2011 with a cash prize of PKR 1,000,000, the IoBM Best Researcher Award in 2021 with cash prize and certificate, the Women in Higher Education Fellowship (WiHE) by Professors Without Borders in the UK in 2025, the Women’s Leadership in Higher Education Program (VIPP) Fellowship by Michigan State University sponsored by the U.S. Department of State in 2023, the International Education Faculty Achievement Award from the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) in 2014, participation in the Leadership Development for Higher Education Reform (LEADHER) Project in 2014, and the Group Study Exchange Program Fellowship by the Rotary Foundation International for Pennsylvania, USA, in 2011.
