Narendra U P is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Science and Engineering at Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering, Moodabidri, and serves as Director of Placements, Training, and Industrial Relations. He holds a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering, an M.Tech. in Computer Network Engineering, and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science Engineering focused on Knowledge Management Systems. With 23 years of teaching experience and 1 year of industry experience at MindTree Consulting, where he led the E-Learning initiative, he has been with MITE since August 17, 2009, following his role as a Member of the Board of Studies for ISE at PES Institute of Technology. Narendra U P is actively involved in administration as a Member of the Governing Council, Convener of the Career Guidance Cell, Industry Institute Interaction Cell, and Entrepreneurship Development Cell, and member of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Academic Committee. He is a Life Member of ISTE, member of CSI, and IEEE.
His research specializes in Knowledge Management Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation, and tacit knowledge externalization. He has 17 publications, including “Autonomous Educational Knowledge Management System using Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Process Automation” (Solid State Technology, 2020), “The pertinence of Autonomous Educational Knowledge Management System using Artificial Intelligence in the times of Covid-19” (Solid State Technology, 2020), “Framework for Knowledge Management on Education” (International Journal of Advanced Science and Technology, 2020), “Externalization of tacit knowledge in a knowledge management system using chat bots” (ICSITech 2017), and “Externalizing tacit Information for a Knowledge Management System” (ICAISC-2013, Singapore). He received the Young Investigator Award at ICAISC-2013 for the best paper. Notably, he secured INR 1.2 Crores funding for the NAIN Entrepreneurship project from Karnataka Government (2017) and INR 65 Lakhs from MSME, Government of India (2018).
