Rate My Professor Ngoni Ngwarai

Ngwarai has contributed to research management through first authorship on a paper published in Nature Communications, leadership of a R3.5 million BANKSETA-funded entrepreneurship programme, presentations at SARIMA conferences on topics such as community investments and spillovers, establishment of partnerships including with SEDFA, and creation of training modules for Coursera. He has mentored professionals across Africa and played a key role in operational responses during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Agincourt site. In 2024, he received Research Management Professional status from the International Professional Recognition Council (IPRC) and the Professional Excellence in Research Management Award from the Southern African Research and Innovation Management Association (SARIMA). He maintains memberships in SARIMA and the Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA). Ngwarai emphasises capacity building and the professionalisation of research operations to enhance local impact and sustainability in African research environments.
