Early in his professional journey, Summers worked as a Research Associate to Justice Kenneth Martin and Justice Corboy of the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2011, providing him with direct insight into appellate judicial processes and high-level legal research. In 2012, he commenced practice at an international law firm in Perth, focusing on commercial litigation and arbitration across key sectors including energy and resources, mining, and mining services. This hands-on experience in contentious matters honed his skills in dispute resolution and commercial law. Transitioning to academia in 2017, Summers joined the University of Notre Dame Australia, teaching core subjects such as contract law, administrative law, and moot court.
