About Nick

Nick Morr is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the School of Film & Media Arts at Cleveland State University, where he has taught since at least 2018. His teaching portfolio encompasses key production-oriented courses in the film curriculum, developing students' practical skills in filmmaking and media production. These include FMA 252: Production II - A (since 2018), FMA 324: Production III Preparation (since 2019), FMA 366: Experimental Film and Video (since 2021), FMA 101: Tech Foundations of the Moving Image (since 2023), and FMA 253: Production II - B (since 2024), among a total of ten courses offered.

Morr's creative scholarship focuses on non-textual forms, including performances and digital or visual products. His recent works include the performance piece "Needle Drop" (2024), the digital or visual product "Prudës Hollywood" (2024), and "When the Mind's Free" (2024), also a digital or visual product. He has additionally directed the short film "Parlay," presented in connection with Cleveland State University faculty projects. Morr contributes to professional service as a panel moderator and award presenter (2023) and is actively involved with the Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF), where he facilitates industry Q&As with filmmakers, hosts student screenings, and supports college immersion events. As a Cleveland-based director-cinematographer, his films have screened at festivals including SXSW, Tribeca, and CIFF, with credits including Rain Fall (2009), Always Shine (2016), and Grateful Shred: Eyes of the World (2018). His engagement bridges academic training with professional filmmaking practices, enriching the School of Film & Media Arts community.
