Dr. Nigel Tan serves as an Oral Surgeon in the Department of Oral Diagnostic and Surgical Sciences within the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Otago. He obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Otago in 2015. In 2022, he completed his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (DClinDent) specializing in Oral Surgery from the same university. His doctoral thesis, titled 'A comparison between knotless and conventional sutures: a novel approach to third molar surgery,' was submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree and represents his research contribution during his postgraduate training.
