Gupta holds Indian patents, including one for a novel Perovskite-Silicon Tandem Solar Cell design developed with Prof. Raghavendra Deshmukh. He has secured research funding, such as a DST-sponsored project worth 22 lakh rupees with Dr. Susanta Kumar Nayak. Gupta organized the Workshop on Research and Applications in Photonics at VNIT and serves on the institute's website committee. As a visiting researcher at Purdue University under the IUSSTF WARI program, he engages in international collaborations. In 2024, he was elevated to Optica Senior Member, recognizing his contributions to photonics and solar energy technologies.
