About Nilesh

Dr. Nilesh Ghongade serves as Associate Professor and Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department at M.H. Saboo Siddik College of Engineering in Mumbai. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad in 2016, M.E. in CAD/CAM from Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University in 2006, and B.E. in Production Engineering from North Maharashtra University in 2001. With more than 21 years of teaching experience, Dr. Ghongade has contributed to graduate and postgraduate education and research under the University of Mumbai. Following his Ph.D., he has held the position of Associate Professor, guiding several undergraduate and postgraduate projects in mechanical and related fields. He previously served as a postgraduate guide at Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Kharghar, and Bharat College of Engineering, Badlapur in academic years 2016-17 and 2017-18.

His research specializations include applications of CAD, bio-mechanics, Healthcare 4.0, and decision support systems. Key publications authored by Dr. Ghongade encompass "Analysis and Evaluation of Limb Alignment in Total Knee Replacement" published in Computer-Aided Design and Applications in 2013 with co-authors Ravi Warkhedkar and Ashok Shyam; "Experimental Evaluation Of Varus/Valgus Malalignment in Total Knee Replacement" in Cyber Times International Journal of Technology and Management in 2014; and "Optimization in Gating System in Jewelry Investment Casting: A Review" in Asian Journal of Advance and Basic Science in 2018 with Jyotsna Sinha. He has also presented papers at national and international conferences, such as "Limb Alignment in TKR" at the International CAD Conference in 2013. Among his honors, Dr. Ghongade secured first rank with a Rs. 5,000 cash prize at the Inter University Research Convention Avishkar-2012, a Rs. 100,000 travel grant from the Indian Council of Medical Research to attend a conference in Bergamo, Italy in 2013, and second rank at a national-level technical paper presentation competition at Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineering. A life member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (LM-55818) and the Indian Institute of Industrial Engineering (LM-9672), he has acted as session chair, expert speaker on Healthcare 4.0 and CAD/CAM technologies, and guest lecturer.
