Rate My Professor Niraj Gupta

Dr. Niraj Gupta serves as Associate Professor and Head of the School of Corporate Governance and Public Policy at the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, in New Delhi. In this capacity, he spearheads critical public policy initiatives such as the Independent Directors Databank and the National CSR Awards, acting as the Nodal Officer for these programs. Boasting over 27 years of distinguished experience in research, teaching, and consulting, Dr. Gupta has made significant contributions to the academic and professional spheres of corporate governance and public policy. His robust academic background comprises a Ph.D., an MBA, an M.Com, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management. Furthermore, he has enhanced his expertise through specialized courses at renowned institutions including the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-Ahmedabad), the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT-Kanpur), and the Management Development Institute Gurgaon (MDI-Gurgaon).

As an ICSSR Visiting Research Fellow and a DEA Fellow from the Foundation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme in Paris, France, Dr. Gupta's research specializes in corporate governance, business sustainability, and responsible business conduct. He has held visiting professor positions at various universities in India and Europe and has been involved in multiple research projects. Dr. Gupta has authored a substantial number of research papers and reports on corporate governance and business policy. Among his honors are multiple scholarships and awards, notably a Post-Doctoral Scholarship from the Hungarian Scholarship Board, which enabled him to work at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. He has presented at numerous national and international conferences, academic, consulting, and advocacy forums. With a forte in executive training and adult learning, Dr. Gupta has delivered training to boards and board members of both public and private sector enterprises in India and overseas, thereby exerting considerable influence on governance practices and policy frameworks in the corporate domain.
