Nurit Reichman holds a BA from Hebrew University. Since 1991, she has served as a key staff member in the Department of Biochemistry within the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Otago. Her roles have included Head Technician in Genetics and Undergraduate Laboratory Manager. She has contributed to undergraduate teaching laboratories, preparing lab courses and supporting demonstrators. In 2021, during the retirement farewell for Professional Practice Fellow Kaye Wilson, she was present alongside former Head of Department Professor Catherine Day. Nurit Reichman co-authored the publication 'A nitrogen balance experiment using simulated urine samples' in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Education in 2006, alongside colleagues Mehri Sadighi, Kaye Wilson, Alan Carne, and Mary P. Thompson. This work addressed ethical issues in undergraduate experimentation by developing simulated urine samples for nitrogen balance studies. She is listed in multiple University of Otago calendars from 2018 to 2023 under staff in Health Sciences – School of Biomedical Sciences and Department of Biochemistry. The department is part of the Division of Health Sciences. Otago Biochemistry acknowledged her dedication in social media posts, including a farewell morning tea.
