His research focuses on VLSI Design, Mixed-signal VLSI Design, Digital Signal Processing, ASIC Design, CMOS VLSI Design, CAD VLSI, Testing of VLSI Circuits, electromagnetic fields, transmission lines, mobile communication, and FPGA implementation for biomedical and hyperspectral image processing. Dr. Nagarajan holds granted patents like “Design of Power Gated Double Edge Triggered Flip Flop Using Sleep Transistor Technique” (2024) and several published Indian patents in VLSI circuit modeling and biomedical image processing. As Co-Principal Investigator, he contributed to an ISRO-funded project on optimized miniature antenna modules valued at ₹33.4 lakhs. He guides Ph.D. scholars in VLSI and RF circuit modeling and has conducted workshops on VLSI architectures for biomedical applications and nano CMOS VLSI circuits.
