Professor Pablo Muñoz is Professor in Entrepreneurship in Durham University Business School. He is an applied social scientist conducting research at the intersection of human enterprise, social issues, and natural environments. His scholarship highlights the generative power of social science research and engaged scholarship to imagine and enact better futures, grounded in playful experimentation. In 2023, he founded the Social Science Enterprise Lab to pioneer unconventional methods and tools that scale the impact of social science research via commercialisation, merging use-inspired and solution-oriented research with early-stage business development. Additionally, he co-founded Mind Your Business, a Durham University spin-out delivering business development support that prioritises human well-being.
Muñoz occupies pivotal roles as Co-Director of the Durham Enterprise Centre in the Business School and Co-Principal Investigator in the Global Centre for Contextual Safeguarding in the Department of Sociology. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Business Venturing Insights and holds visiting research positions at IE Business School in Spain and EGADE Business School in Mexico. His research specialisations encompass prospective inquiry, commercialisation of social science, and research impact.
