Padmavathy T serves as a Professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at the Vellore Institute of Technology. With a PhD from Anna University, Chennai, she has established herself as a prominent researcher in computer science. Her primary academic interests and research specializations are wireless networks, under water acoustic communication, antenna design, wireless sensor networks, and under water acoustic sensor networks. As an eligible research guide, she mentors doctoral students in these domains, contributing to the next generation of scholars in computer science.
Padmavathy T's career is marked by significant academic appointments and a prolific publication record that underscores her impact on the field. She has authored and co-authored numerous papers in high-impact journals and conferences. Key publications include the 2018 paper "Performance analysis of pre-cancerous mammographic image enhancement feature using non-subsampled shearlet transform" published in Multimedia Tools and Applications. In 2021, she published "Effective offline handwritten text recognition model based on a sequence-to-sequence approach with CNN–RNN networks" in Neural Computing and Applications. More recent contributions include "Multi‐lingual encryption technique using Unicode and Riemann zeta function" in Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience in 2024, "Energy Harvesting from Vehicle-Induced Wind for Enhanced Communication Efficiency in Autonomous Electric Vehicles" in 2025, "Maximizing Wireless Sensor Networks Coverage and Connectivity in Irregular Terrains Using Grover's Quantum Algorithm" in IEEE Sensors Journal in 2025, and "A quantum resilient deepfake detection framework using enhanced resnext and post quantum cryptography defence". Her scholarly output is reflected in her Scopus h-index of 5, i10-index of 4, and over 821 citations on Google Scholar. Furthermore, she has engaged in consultancy projects and served on organizing committees for international conferences, such as the Session Arrangements Committee for ICADT'2025 at VIT Vellore.
