Paige Waters is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Media at Ball State University, where she has served as faculty since 2010. As the department’s assistant chair, she coordinates external and alumni communications, organizes annual events including the Media Homecoming Alumni Takeover and March Spring Training alumni events, manages the department's social media presence, oversees the monthly The Memo alumni newsletter, and maintains the department website. She also advises student organizations such as Cardinal Filmworks and the Frog Baby Film Festival. Waters holds a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications and American History and a Master of Arts in Telecommunications from Ball State University, as well as a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from Spalding University, earned in 2019.
In her teaching, Waters focuses on introductory writing courses and classes within the Media Promotion and Management concentration, incorporating immersive real-world projects. Her courses include Writing for Electronic Media: Scriptwriting, Advanced Media Promotion, Independent Study, Creativity, Narrative and Aesthetics for Media, and Directed Study in Media. Student initiatives under her supervision have included the annual Cardinal Screenplay Festival and fundraisers for the Eaton Public Library Art Show, raising over $1,000 in one instance. Before academia, she worked as an account manager and copywriter at CS Kern in Muncie, Indiana. Off-campus, Waters has been a member of the Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce Image Committee since 2010, a former 21st Century Scholars Mentor for Project Leadership, and a board member and grant writer for Eaton Public Library since 2015. Her achievements include the College of Communication, Information, and Media Excellence in Teaching award in 2015, recognition as WLBC’s BSU Difference Maker of the Month in February 2015, and selection as one of The Star Press and M Magazine's 40 Under 40 in 2018.
