Dr. Pamela Payne serves as Adjunct Faculty in the Department of English and Foreign Languages at Grambling State University. Her academic credentials include an Ed.D. from Grambling State University in 2004, an M.A. from Louisiana Tech University in 1992, and a B.S. from Columbus College in 1984. Earlier in her career at Grambling State University, she was appointed Assistant Professor of English, as noted in the 2008-2009 General Catalog, and Associate Professor in the College of Education with responsibilities in Social Studies and English, according to faculty handbooks and rosters.
Dr. Payne has demonstrated leadership in educational administration and faculty governance. She served as Principal of Grambling Junior/High School while holding a part-time Associate Professor position, per the Fall 2015 Roster of Instructional Staff. She presided over Faculty Senate meetings, including executive sessions in 2021 and regular meetings in 2020 and 2021. In professional development, she acted as Project Director for the 2012-13 LaSIP Professional Development Project focused on English Language Arts, collaborating with colleagues on initiatives supported by Louisiana state resources. Additionally, she contributed to service learning efforts as the contact person for ACT Preparation Workshops involving 35 students and faculty, and presented on service learning topics at the College of Education's research symposia. Her involvement extends to the Secondary Education program faculty listings in university catalogs and teacher candidate placements in local schools through the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Payne's roles underscore her commitment to teacher preparation and literacy enhancement within Literature and education at Grambling State University.
