Professor Pascualito B. Gatan, MBA, serves as Vice President for Campuses at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), holding the academic rank of Professor III. Appointed to this position by former PUP President Emanuel C. De Guzman, he previously held the roles of Branch Director for PUP Quezon City and Director of the PUP Open University System. In his current capacity, Gatan oversees the administration and development of PUP's extensive network of 12 branches and 10 satellite campuses across the Philippines, ensuring effective operations and expansion to serve a wider student population.
Gatan has played a pivotal role in numerous university milestones and events. He participated in the inauguration of the Bonifacio V. Romero Communication Center, the formal opening of the PUP-Leyte Campus in September 2024 to accommodate students from poor communities, and the groundbreaking of the Tahanan ng Atleta project by the PUPPCC Alumni Association USA. As Chairman of the PUP Provident Fund Board of Trustees, he led the 9th, 10th, and 11th Annual General Assemblies, presenting accomplishment reports and approving dividends such as 6.35% in one instance. Gatan has also been present at key occasions including the first university-wide student organization summit, the 2024 UNIGAMES where he expressed admiration for student-athletes, PUPQC's turnover of a new gymnasium and groundbreaking for another facility, and the celebration of campuses and academic extension programs' foundation anniversaries alongside campus directors and local officials. Additionally, he contributed to PUP's compliance with AO 25 Section 5 through the University Freedom of Information Committee and supported international collaborations such as the MOA with IS-TNU Vietnam at PUP Lopez. His leadership fosters unity among PUP's dispersed units through initiatives like the Office of the Vice President for Branches and Satellite Campuses Online Repository of Documents for ISO preparation and accreditation.
