Associate Professor Patrick Cobbinah is affiliated with the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning at the University of Melbourne, joining the institution as a Lecturer in 2019 and progressing to his current position in Urban Planning. His academic background encompasses a PhD in Human Geography, specializing in Regional Planning and Resource Conservation, earned from Charles Sturt University between 2011 and 2014; a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Human Settlement Planning from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology from 2005 to 2009; and a Graduate Certificate from the University of Melbourne. Prior to Melbourne, he held the position of Lecturer at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology from December 2016 to June 2019 and served as a Sessional Lecturer at Charles Sturt University starting from June 2015. Cobbinah's expertise stems from human geography and urban planning, contributing to teaching roles such as coordinating the Cities from Local to Global subject and serving as Pathway Coordinator for Urban Planning in the Melbourne School of Design's Bachelor of Design program.

His publications have amassed over 6,112 citations on ResearchGate, demonstrating considerable impact within urban studies and related fields. Cobbinah further extends his influence through service on the editorial team of Heliyon Urban Development and as an alumnus of the Global Young Academy from 2018 to 2023.
