D. Patrick Saxon serves as Professor of Educational Leadership and Director of the Doctoral Program in Developmental Education Administration in the Department of Educational Leadership at Sam Houston State University since 2012. He holds an Ed.D. in Developmental Education Administration from Grambling State University (2011), an M.B.A. from Appalachian State University (1990), and a B.S.B.A. in Marketing and Management from Appalachian State University (1988). Prior to his current role, Saxon was Assistant Director at the National Center for Developmental Education at Appalachian State University from 2001 to 2012, Coordinator of Research and Special Projects there from 1990 to 2000, Instructor in the College of Business in 2000, and held adjunct positions at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute from 1994 to 2009.
