Paula MacLachlan is a staff member at the University of Otago's Wellington campus in the Division of Health Sciences, contributing to organisational delivery and project management. She was part of the collaborative team responsible for developing new student study spaces featuring murals painted by local Māori artists Puni Kohu and Kiri Teinaki. These spaces, located in the Ward Support Block at Wellington Hospital, provide comfortable and vibrant study areas furnished with new seating for undergraduate students in medicine, radiation therapy, and physiotherapy, as well as postgraduate students. The project involved staff including Luke the campus photographer, Toa, the Associate Dean Māori, Associate Professor Bridget Robson, and Deputy Health Sciences Librarian Donna Tietjens.
