About Paul
Dr Paul Bryan serves as Senior Lecturer in Pure Mathematics within the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at Macquarie University. He completed his PhD at the Australian National University in 2012, with a dissertation titled Isoperimetric Comparison Techniques For Low Dimension. His academic work centres on geometric analysis, with particular emphasis on hypersurface flows, multi-point maximum principles, integrability profiles, smoothing techniques, optimal shapes in geometry and physics, isoperimetry in modern analysis, fully non-linear geometric problems, differential equations, curvature flows, Christoffel-Minkowski flows, constant rank theorems, curve shortening flow, negatively curved three-manifolds, hyperbolic metrics, isometric embeddings in Minkowski space, and cross curvature flow.
Dr Bryan maintains an active research profile with twenty outputs to date, including seventeen peer-reviewed articles and one conference proceeding contribution. Notable publications include On the classification of ancient solutions to curvature flows on the sphere (2024), Christoffel-Minkowski flows (2023), Constant rank theorems for curvature problems via a viscosity approach (2023), Sharp distance comparison for curve shortening flow on the round sphere (2023), and Negatively curved three-manifolds, hyperbolic metrics, isometric embeddings in Minkowski space and the cross curvature flow (2021). These contributions appear in leading outlets such as Annali della Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, Transactions of the American Mathematical Society, Calculus of Variations and Partial Differential Equations, and Cambridge University Press volumes. His research advances theoretical understanding in differential geometry and partial differential equations, supporting broader progress in pure mathematics.
