Rate My Professor Pauline Uyseco

Pauline Uyseco has contributed to various departmental initiatives. In 2019, she participated in hands-on workshops for high school students organized by the Department of Biochemistry, assisting alongside colleagues Tobi Eboda and Harry Biggs to provide practical experience in biochemistry. She has also been involved in interdisciplinary engagements, such as a 2019 event where scientists and artists explored each other's work; there, as a student in Sigurd Wilbanks' lab, she discussed research on phycoerythrin, a protein from red seaweed. Additionally, her technical support is acknowledged in a 2021 University of Otago honours thesis by J Foster, 'A Probe for Conformational Change of Hsc70 in mammalian cells,' where she and Brooke Hayes prepared competent DH5α cells for the Wilbanks lab. Pauline Uyseco holds a Master's degree in Biochemistry and is experienced in laboratory work, including microbiology. On ResearchGate, she is profiled with affiliation to the University of Otago Department of Biochemistry and listed disciplines including PCR, gene expression, and synthetic biology.
