Professor Pei-Lee Teh serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Management in the School of Business at Monash University Malaysia. She earned her PhD in Management from Multimedia University in 2010, with a thesis titled 'Role Conflict as Mediator of the Relationship Between Total Quality Management Practices and Role Ambiguity.' Her academic background also includes a Master of Management from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2006 and a Bachelor of Information Technology in Multimedia Technology Management from Multimedia University in 2003. Before her current appointment, she was a Senior Lecturer at Multimedia University, Assistant Manager at the President’s Office there, and an intern in the Web Development Department at Western Digital. As Director of the Gerontechnology Laboratory, which she founded in 2016 as the first of its kind in Malaysia, she leads interdisciplinary research initiatives.
Professor Teh's research specializations include Management Information Systems, Technology Management, Total Quality Management, Knowledge Management, Entrepreneurship, Gerontechnology, Innovation, and Learning, with a focus on technology adoption among older adults. She has authored over 130 research outputs, published in top-tier journals such as Information & Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, and Innovation in Aging. Key publications include 'Harmony across generations: exploring the impact of multicultural intergenerational choral singing programs in Malaysia' (2026), 'Person-environment fit theory in urban walking: An evaluation of subjective influences and the mediating role of perceived security in Kuala Lumpur' (2026), and 'Enhancing older adults’ lives through positive aging perception, quality-of-life enhancement, and social support to drive acceptance and readiness toward indoor assistive technology' (2025). Her work has attracted grants exceeding RM10 million from organizations including the Prime Minister's Office’s Economic Planning Unit, Ministry of Higher Education, World Health Organization, and SIME DARBY Research. She has received major awards such as the Best Short Paper Winner at the Pacific-Asia Conference on Information Systems (2024), National Outstanding Educator Award (2019), Best Full Paper Awards at the Human-Computer Interaction International Conference (2017) and British Academy of Management (2016), and multiple School of Business Excellence Awards. Professor Teh holds editorial roles as Associate Editor for Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education, Gerontechnology Journal, and International Journal of Electronic Business, and serves on the International Advisory Committee for the Research Institute for Smart Ageing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She founded the IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society Malaysia Chapter and has contributed to UN Sustainable Development Goals through her research and media engagements.
