Philippa Ross, known professionally as Pip Ross, conducted summer research in the Department of Women's and Children's Health at the University of Otago. In 2015, she was awarded the Pat Cragg Summer Student Prize by the Otago Medical School Research Society for her project on the incidence and characteristics of insulin pump-associated adverse events in New Zealand children and adults with type 1 diabetes mellitus, supervised by Dr Ben Wheeler. She also received the first prize of $500 funded by the Otago Medical Research Foundation for this work. Her research addressed safety aspects of insulin pump therapy in diabetes management.
