Rate My Professor Praveen Kumar Gupta

Dr. Praveen Kumar Gupta is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Law at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies (MAIMS), Delhi, a position he has held since 2018. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Law from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana, conferred in 2008, an LL.M. in Law in 2004, an LL.B. in Law in 2001, and a B.Com. in Commerce in 1992, all from the same university. He also holds a Diploma in Company Secretaryship (Intermediate) from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, New Delhi, obtained in 1996, and a Diploma/Refresher Course in Human Rights from the Department of Law, Kurukshetra University, and UGC Academic Staff College in 2013. A lifetime member of the Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana since 2001, Dr. Gupta possesses 12 years of teaching experience, 12 years of research experience, and 7 years 3 months of industry experience as documented in 2021.

Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Gupta served as an Assistant Professor of Law at Vaish College of Law from 2010 to 2018. At MAIMS, he leads the Department of Law, which was established in 2017 to offer the five-year integrated BA LL.B. program (120 seats), followed by BBA LL.B. in 2020 (60 seats) and LLM in 2022. He serves as Associate Editor of the Maharaja Agrasen Journal of Law, a bi-annual peer-reviewed publication launched in 2025 with ISSN 3108-2262. His academic contributions include presentations at the International Conference on Contribution of International Environmental Law for Sustainable Development: Global and National Perspectives at the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi in February 2012, and the National Seminar on Environmental Pollution and the Law at the Faculty of Law, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, in February 2011. Key publications co-authored by him are The Role of Digital Transformation in Improving Access to Justice (2025), Harnessing the Potential of Online Dispute Resolution: An Analysis in Indian Context (2025), and a chapter in Green Criminology (2025). Dr. Gupta is also a member of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Anti-Ragging Committee at MAIMS.
