Dr. P.V. Malaji is an Associate Professor and Vice Principal (Academics and Research) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at BLDEA’s V.P. Dr. P.G. Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology, Vijayapur, Karnataka. He obtained his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from B.L.D.E.A.’s College of Engineering and Technology, Bijapur, Visvesvaraya Technological University in 2004, M.Tech. from Basaveshwar Engineering College, Bagalkot, VTU in 2008, and Ph.D. along with Post-Doctoral Fellowship from Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2017. His career commenced in April 2005 as Lecturer and Assistant Professor at B.L.D.E.A.’s CET, Bijapur, serving until December 2012, followed by roles as Vice Principal (R&D) and Associate Professor, leading to his present position. He also held a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Vibration Control and Energy Harvesting Lab at IIT Madras.
Dr. Malaji specializes in Structural Dynamics, Energy Harvesting, and IoT, leading projects including the Vibration Energy Harvesting and IoT Lab funded by VGST Bengaluru (40 Lakhs), emission prediction of diesel engine fueled with nanomaterial-based biodiesel using Artificial Neural Network (VTU, 2 Lakhs, completed), and analysis and development of 3D printed metastructure-based broadband energy harvester for IoT system (VTU, 8 Lakhs). His scholarly output encompasses 9 journal articles, 4 book chapters, 19 conference papers, and 1 published patent. Awards include Best Paper Presentation at ICRDME 2022 (SIT Tumkur), VGST Research Publication Award 2021, and BLDE Association honors for research grants (2019–2021). He organized IEEE NKcon-2022, International Conference on Advances in Energy Harvesting Technology 2021, and workshops on vibration and energy harvesting. As session chair for VETOMAC 2021 and UNESCO UNITWIN 2020, guest scientist at Lublin University of Technology Poland (2019), and reviewer for journals like Nonlinear Dynamics, Smart Materials and Structures, and ASME Journal of Dynamic Systems, he has delivered invited talks at IIT Dharwad, Shiv Nadar University, SRM University, and international collaborators including Prof. Grzegorz Litak (Poland) and Prof. Sondipon Adhikari (Glasgow).
