Rachel Brouwer is the Administrative Specialist at the Center for Advanced Power Systems (CAPS) at Florida State University. CAPS is a multidisciplinary research center focused on basic and applied research to advance power systems technology. The center emphasizes applications in electric utility, defense, and transportation sectors, as well as developing education programs to train the next generation of power systems engineers. Research areas include electric power systems modeling and simulation, power electronics and machines, control systems, thermal management, cyber-security for power systems, high temperature superconductor characterization, and electrical insulation research.
