Rachel Crites serves as the Pre-Award Program Manager at Notre Dame Research, University of Notre Dame, a position she joined in 2023. In this role, she advises principal investigators in the development of grant proposals, providing essential support for research funding applications. Complementing her work in research administration, Rachel Crites is a Term Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Notre Dame. She serves as the primary instructor of Human Anatomy, delivering comprehensive instruction to undergraduate students including juniors and seniors. Prior to her current appointments, she taught human anatomy to Notre Dame juniors and seniors as well as first-year medical students from the Indiana University School of Medicine - South Bend. Her contributions span both pedagogical excellence in biological sciences and administrative expertise in facilitating research endeavors at the institution.
Rachel Crites graduated with a Master of Science in Biology from the University of Notre Dame in 2022. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Evolution and Ecology from The Ohio State University, where she completed several research projects to graduate with research distinction. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted research at The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago for one summer. Rachel Crites has presented at local, regional, and national conferences. She maintains a passion for student mentorship and supports women in science. Her office is located at 940 Grace Hall.
