Ralph Miller is a graduate of the University of Otago. He is also an accomplished professional musician in the Dunedin community. Since 2016, he has been the Principal Trumpet player for the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra, recognized as a stalwart and cornerstone of the local brass community. He performs as lead trumpet for the Dunedin City Jazz Orchestra and engages in diverse brass performances. Notable appearances include soloing in Haydn's Trumpet Concerto with the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Kenneth Young, featuring works by Dvořák, Mozart, Haydn, and Mendelssohn at the King's and Queen's Performing Arts Centres.
