Rami Boutros, MD, MBA, is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics in the Stead Family Department of Pediatrics at the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. He serves as Division Director of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine and Executive Medical Director of Off-site Ambulatory Care Programs at University of Iowa Health Care. Dr. Boutros practices general pediatrics and primary care at Iowa River Landing Pediatrics, 105 E. 9th St., Coralville, IA 52241, and is affiliated with Stead Family Children's Hospital and University of Iowa Physicians. His clinical work focuses on providing comprehensive primary care to pediatric patients in outpatient settings.
Dr. Boutros earned his MD from Damascus University, Damascus, Syria, and his MBA from University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Massachusetts. He completed a residency in Pediatrics at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio, and a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Akron Children’s Hospital, Akron, Ohio. He holds certification from the American College of Physicians Executives. Appointed in 2011 as Executive Medical Director, Dr. Boutros has led initiatives to expand and improve off-site ambulatory care services, integrating his clinical expertise in pediatrics with healthcare administration to support the department's goals in child health and community care delivery. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).
