Prof. Ramji Singh serves as Dean and Professor in the Department of Physiology at Abhishek I Mishra Memorial Medical College and Research (AIMMMCR), Bhilai, Durg, Chhattisgarh. A distinguished medical educator with over 40 years of faculty experience and more than 21 years in administrative capacities, he holds an M.D. degree. His career trajectory features leadership as Executive Director at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Kalyani from May 2020 to September 2025, during which he also held additional charge as Executive Director at AIIMS Guwahati from January 2022 to May 2022. Previously, he was Professor and Head of the Department of Physiology at AIIMS Patna and at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS), Sevagram. Prof. Singh's research specializations encompass neurophysiology and medical education, reflected in his Google Scholar profile with over 700 citations.
In addition to his academic roles, Prof. Singh has undertaken pivotal administrative duties, including Controller of Examinations at AIIMS Patna from November 2012 to April 2020 and Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) there from 2015 to April 2020. He served as General Secretary of the Association of Physiologists and Pharmacologists of India (APPI) for two terms (April 2011–March 2014 and April 2017–March 2020), chaired the Board of Studies (Pre-clinical) at Nagpur University for over eight years, and was a member of the Board of Studies (Pre-Clinical PG) at Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik. He has guided Ph.D. students at Nagpur University and MUHS Nashik, coordinated the Medical Education Technology Unit at MGIMS Sevagram, and contributed to Institutional Ethics Committees at MGIMS Sevagram and AIIMS Patna, as well as the Institutional Ethics and Academic Committee at MGIMS Sevagram. Prof. Singh has published more than 82 research papers and actively participated in over 46 CME programs, conferences, and workshops. His contributions have been recognized with the Best Teacher in Physiology Award by APPI in 2008, GSMC-FAIMER Fellowship in 2007, Times Health Care Achievers Award in 2015, and election as a Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences in 2016.
